Galarneau Gerald Hector (Bud) Galarneau, age 85 of Edina, formerly of Sturgeon Lake and Minneapolis, MN. Born in Minneapolis on March 20, 1918. Died February 11 of cancer. A graduate of Roosevelt HS and the University of Minnesota. A glider pilot in the Army Air Corp in WWII. Started airline and was a commercial pilot following the War. Later joined the family business in Minneapolis and worked for himself for the rest of his life. Proceeded in death by his beloved parents, Hector & Bertha; brother, Richard; sister, Ruth. Survived by his siblings, Gordon and Beverly. Also survived by loving wife of 62 years, Lillian; and children, Mary, Gerald Jr., Tom, Mark, Sheila and Kathleen. As well as grandchildren to whom he was so very special: Dagan, Lillianna, Ellanora, Nick, Chris, Rhea, Laura, Adam, Eric and David. He was a true scholar who loved every minute of every day and lived his life with generosity, courage, kindness, grace and good humor. He will be profoundly missed.
Private burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorial Service: March 2nd, 1pm at Saint John's Lutheran Church, 4842 Nicollet Avenue, Minneapolis.
