In the mid 1960s they moved to the Brainerd area. After Harland's health failed they moved to Winona in 2001. Edith was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Litchfield. She enjoyed fishing, camping and dancing with Harland. She also enjoyed painting and music. She was very handy with her needle work and would often crochet elaborate designs without a pattern.
